Elizabeth Madronich (Putzy) is a Niagara based Professional Visual Artist and instructor. She grew up in the vibrant Beaches neighbourhood in Toronto. Her artistic journey began to take shape during her sojourn in Paris, France after High School, where she immersed herself in French studies and ignited her passion for painting. When she returned to Canada, she attended McMaster University in Hamilton and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy. Putzy worked for years primarily in watercolour until studying at Fleming college, “Haliburton School of Art and Design”. There, she honed her skills encompassing a diverse range of media such as acrylics, mixed media, printmaking, encaustics, collage, alcohol inks, and watercolour.
The hallmark of Putzy’s creations is an explosion of bright hues and abundant textures, whether her canvas embraces objective abstractions or vividly representational scenes.
